Why Don't Friends With Kids Have Time

This article has been floating around blog land, as well in some emails. It appears to be from a column printed in the Washington Post. I don't know what dates....or even if it's real. Even if it isn't, I like it a lot!

I appreciate the validation. What used to take me 15 minutes, now takes me 45. I love my life as a mom, but it has necessitated some exclusion or reduction of very enjoyable things from my life. This includes many projects I love, and spending time talking to and visiting many of my friends. It is a Choice of course, but I can't choose every good thing. My dad taught me that, it's one of the best lesson's he's ever taught me.

This was so great!! I really appreciate this and wish I could forward it to some of my childless friends without seeming a little rude :o). Here's the url to the online archive. It was real and published May 2007. Thanks, Sara!

Love. This.
If being a stay at home mom is an excuse to relax and enjoy, why do I feel completely stretched to both my physical and mental limits at the end of every day? No 'real job' I've ever had did this.

Relax and enjoy.
