Here are things rambling around in my brain, things I want to try, things I'm doing, etc.
Books
1. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

This book was a book group read for December. I didn't get a chance to read it in December, so I'm reading it now. I'm really enjoying it. But, I am too chicken to take on the unabridged version. I'm reading a small 600 page version.

Exercise
Body For Life. I love Body For Life. I love eating this way, it is well balanced, and I'm never starving, a free day a week. It is great. My biggest challenge is eating frequently enough. I forget to eat, because I'm not hungry, than I get hungry and I eat too much. But.....with that said, I do love it. It is helping me eat better and exercise more after the holidays.

Running for beginners. Yes....ME. I don't think I'll ever really run, but I do hate working out, and I'm looking for a more efficient way to get aerobic exercise. No better way than running. I'm really liking Runners World plan for beginning running. We'll see how it goes.
Sewing

I'm loving Amy Butler's patterns. I love love love her bags. I have made 2 Birdie Slings, but gave them both away before taking pictures. I have her "Little Stitches" book, and I can't wait to make something from it. Check out her free patterns available.

Home Decor
I'm going to turn my striped red/beige panel curtains into roman shades. I'm bound and determined to do this! I've decided to use what I already have hanging in the windows to save money, because they are already the right size of fabric, and if I mess up....Darn I'll have to buy more fabric. OOPS!

I want to refinish some furniture so badly. I don't know what. Maybe I'll just make some new seat covers for my dining room chairs, or I'll find something good at DI one of these days. But if the itch gets too bad, I'm going to attack perfectly good side tables pretty soon.
Work
I'm working 1 shift a week for the next couple of months. I love working with the Open Heart Surgery patients.
We are hiring for a part time hygienist at the office. So, hiring a new employee means I'm doing a lot of phone calls, interviews, etc.
I'm the new payroll girl in the office. Yay! Let's all hope that QuickBooks is as easy as everyone says it is.
Family
Jacob is a dream. I am his best friend in the whole world right now. He is always within a few feet of my legs. He is so funny, because he doesn't talk. He baby babbles A LOT, but no English. He says "Dada" and "bye-bye" "Uh-Oh" "nana" He says a lot of other things I can recognize but aren't really the words. banana, here you go, thank you, etc. He has been wanting me to read to him more lately, which a big relief. He has always been so busy, he won't sit still to read. But lately he has been bringing me books to read. He loves to read books to himself too. He flips through the pages and makes his "reading" sound. It is so cute.
He is learning to run. Some children can run almost as soon as the walk, not this kid. He is trying to run though, and it is funny. He leans forward, swings his arms behind him, and stumbles along. I'm not encouraging it or worried at all, because just like walking, once he runs he'll never stop.
John is doing great. He is coming up on his 32nd birthday soon. We'll be in Winatchee, WA for that and we are excited.
Movies
Australia: I enjoyed this movie. There were tears and laughs. The acting was good too.

Twilight: I have seen it 4 times. I'm not obsessed! First time with my niece, second time with my sister in law (then she read all the books in one week), third time with my mother in law (but we didn't get to see the end because someone got sick in the movie theatre), and the last time with my sister who read all the books in less than a week and needed to watch the movie with someone who also had read the books! Robert Pattinson actually did a good job as Edward...I didn't think he would. Kristen Stewart on the other hand, needs some more acting lessons. I can't wait for the second movie, hopefully with a bigger budget they can get make-up and stunts right.

Valkyrie: I think this is the best acting Tom Cruise has ever done. Poor guy though, he was upstaged because of the cast of phenomenal actors. It was great!

Curious Case of Benjamin Button:
I'm not normally a huge fan of Brad Pitt. But this movie, although VERY long, was strangely sweet. I can't put my finger on it, but I did like it and shed a tear or two along the way. Cate Blanchett of course was spectacular.

I've heard mixed emotions on the brad pitt movie. I will have to see for myself. I am impressed that you are going to do the payroll, good for you! And working a shift a week will be a great release I am sure. i love how you always have a project. I need to be better that way.
Hey Eskimo,
It was good to talk to you guys today. You've got some pretty ambitious goals here and I'm sure you'll kill em all. Jake looks like an awesome little version of you two. I'm glad we got to catch up with you guys and I'll check in here every now and then to see what you are up to.
Max
I've been wanting to read the Count too but it’s so hard to read with the baby. Sean and his parents started a business so I read a book on QuickBooks (before Waylon was born) and took some tutorials. There is so much to it that I'm more confused now than when I started. I think it would be easier if we had a service based business like you guys though. Having products is a pain.
You always have great posts! You are also very busy. How do you do it? Quickbooks is sooooo very easy. You are very very smart and it will be easy. Call me if you get stuck. I did payroll on it for 4 years.
Love to you all
Shannon
I just laugh! Thanks for the comments. I'm glad I could be back in touch with Katie and Max.
But everyone comments on how busy I am. Seriously, I'm just busy being a stay at home mom, but everything else is just on the side. I'm not really busy, I stay home...make a huge mess, don't clean much....watch TV, and blog. Oh, that is all before or after Jacob goes to bed. Thanks all!
